Pottery Summer Camp for
Kids Entering
1st-9th Grades

Campers enjoy creating hand-built projects out of clay slabs, working with varied art media, and new in 2026: campers can experiment with throwing clay on a professional wheel!  We spend a lot of time playing outside, enjoying summer in lush forests, sunny fields, and tranquil woodlands.  

All experience levels welcome!

Maximum Camp Size: 8 Artists

One-of-a-kind Art Camp

Projects

  • Monday: Choose 3-4 of the following hand-built projects: bowl, nesting ramekins, spoon rest, saucer, coasters, trivet, ornament, or free-form sculpture

  • Tuesday: Wheel throwing & watercolor

  • Wednesday: Glazes hand-built projects after bisque fired to cone 06.  All work refired to cone 6.  Food-safe glazes are microwave and dishwasher safe

  • Thursday: Wheel throwing & chalk pastel

  • Friday: Unveiling of hand-built projects. Independent multi-media projects

Activities

  • Before and after scheduled art projects, kids enjoy free time in our indoor play area & large backyard in the forest

  • Open mixed media studio

  • Walks through the forest and Arnold Creek to sunny fields and playground at Stephenson Elementary, and woodland hikes in Maricara Natural Area

  • Packing up finished artwork

  • Pizza & watermelon party!

Hi! I’m Ms. Rose

During the school year I am an educator at Jackson Middle School, teach all-ages pottery workshops and sell my ceramics at small, local events.  In the summer, nothing brings me more joy than sharing my love of art and ceramics with young artists in our local community!
